Skated on Team Illinois which was Midget Major state runner-up and won five of seven tournaments... Attended John Burroughs School in St. Louis for ninth and 10th grades before moving on to New Trier High School in Illinois for 11th... Attended Valley High School in Des Moines for 12th grade... Earned all-league honors in baseball at John Burroughs... Also played one season of football.
