Ryan reached the third round of the USTA Super Nationals in Kalamazoo, Mich., in 2006 and finished his first year in the 18 & Under ranked No. 133. The previous year in the 16 & Under he reached a high of No. 59. He was the captain of the Bryam Hills High School team and received All-State Honors. He also participated in the Athletes Helping Athletes Program, which teaches sixth-grade students leadership, life skills, and sportsmanship.
