Rory, this season's team captain, moved up to the No. 4 position last year and posted a 12-12 singles record. For the second straight year he played No. 1 doubles, where he had an 11-7 record and earned Second Team All-Ivy recognition. Rory had the second-best winning percentage on the team as a sophomore, going 19-9 at primarily the No. 5 position. He also played No. 1 doubles and had a 10-13 record that year. Rory played in the No. 5 singles position for most of his freshman year, missing only one dual match. That year he also went 4-4 at No. 3 doubles. Last season Rory earned the ITA Scholar-Athlete Award (GPA 3.5+). In junior competition, he was ranked eighth in the 18 & under division in Ireland by the ITF rankings. He reached the semifinals of the Irish National Doubles Championships in 2002. He won his school team's sportsmanship award in the 14 & under and the 16 & under divisions. Rory attended Belvedere College.
